real good 2nd base man & boy could he run--great guy & funny
From Art Lederman on May 25th, 2016
grew up playing ball with him in Flamingo Park , boy was he fast around the bases and a reag good second base man, laughed alot with him , can't believe he's passed. Will miss him .
When I moved to Miami Beach in 1954 on 13th st. Pennsylvania Ave. right across the alley way lived this tall kid that I became very friendly with name Ricky. We went to Flaming Park almost daily after school was out and played in whatever kind of ball that was going on there and wouldn't come home till dusk. Our mothers used to ask each other , so is Ricky home yet, because Arthur isn't and vice versa. Almost forgot, it was Ricky that also took me on my 1st motorcycle ride when his mother bought him that 650 Bonnyville Triumph bike and when he did that wheelie(scared the ---- out of me)that was it for me. Some years ago I went back to my old neighborhood and there he was in the same place in a wheelchair telling me what happened to him ) He was just as big then in that chair as he was playing Basketball. Man was he great !!! I had heard that he passed quite a while ago but reading his name now and thinking back just remembering those great old days brings tears to my eyes and getting pretty choked up. God is watching you shoot that jump shot right now Rick, " all net as usual."
From Laura Herman Pomerantz on March 28th, 2015
Ricky was such a fine person. We shared so many good times together. He loved life, his
friends, basketball, his -Vette, and was a truly caring person. I dropped his transmission while he was teaching me how to drive a stick shift and he didn't even get mad at me!!!
A 6'5" gentle giant!! He made the world a better place for sure.

Ricky was my buddy - he drove to school in his blue Corvette and we confided in each other. He was a gentleman and a great athlete.
Sharon was a sweet and loving person. We became close after high school and I was sad to read of her passing.
From Leslie Alter on February 22nd, 2010
Sharon has never left my thoughts. She had the most beautiful heart. For those of you who remember her know she always had a smile and a kind word. She will be missed everyday.
Ted was a very close friend from elementary school (Biscayne and Bay Harbor) throughout Beach High, college, and beyond. We drifted apart over the past few years, and I was shocked and saddened by his death. He was a good guy, very funny, and very intelligent. If there is a Heaven, Ted is probably regaling his fellow spirits with incredible puns.
From Margaret (Margie) Goldfarb (Uller) on November 13th, 2014
Carole and I went to South Beach Elementary together - we were in Brownies together (my mom was troop leader) . It was so wonderful seeing her at the 45th reunion - she had never attended any other reunions and drove alone from Nebraska to be there. Her brother told me after her death that she bravely fought cancer and had the best time at the reunion reconnecting with her childhood. She was a beautiful and lovely spirit when I saw her with a flower in her hair.
Jeff was just a great person and yes Janet we use to all hang out on Lincoln Rd. We even used to double date quite often, you & Jeff, me & Jayne, Billy and Andrea. Jeff's mother used to let him take her Buick whenever we all went out. Great times ! Great times ! I too miss him.
From Janet Cooper Schwartzberg on August 25th, 2011
You will be greatly missed. My first love.

What a shock to find out my first love passed away. I will always remember going to Lincoln Road after school for a malt and fries. He was the love of my life a really good person.
Nancy , boy were you pretty with that blonde hair. I could picture you now in you cheer leading outfit at those Basketball & Football games. Nice girl & always a great smile.

I KNEW ROZ .....SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL . WE SHARED ART AND FLEA MARKETS AND SOME GIRLY STUFF.

I felt you with me at the reunion. I will keep you with me and remember you always. Your stories will live on through me. I promise. Until we meet again ...
Sadly, Craig's daughter Hillary informed me that Craig had passed away in early 2011. Even though we had only touched base a few times since grtaduation, he was a great friend and will be missed.
From Adrienne Deblinger Kristall on August 11th, 2015
Jacque was a dear friend of mine since kindergarten. She had a tough beginning in her life but ended up being a big part of her community. She was a legal guardian and very well known in the Miami Beach Community. She had a good heart and was a good friend. When our daughter passed away, it was Jacque who went to my mother's house to be with her when we couldn't be there to give her a shoulder to cry on. That's the kind of friend she was. I will miss her. Adrienne Kristall
A lifelong friend who never had a bad word to say about anyone. A winner in everything he did and got straight A's in the game of life. He will be missed by all that were fortunate to know him. Rest in peace!

I was very sad to hear of Steve passing. I knew Stever for over 60 years and loved his sense of humor and sweet nature. The photo is of Steve and I with our teacher Miss Maone in 3rd grade. I will miss him.
David was my closest friend growing up, from about 2nd grade through high school, and during college and up to his death in 1996. He lived in different parts of the country at various times, and he and I had many adventures in Boulder, Santa Fe, the Bay Area, and the DC area before he settled down and married Kathy about five years before he got sick. I miss him but, fortunately, have warm memories of the good times.
Terry had such a hard time with life. She hated herself and always tried to camouflage herself with plastic surgery and makeup. Drove her corvair fast. Beach High did not do her well.
The day I found out I was pregnant with my first son, I found out about Terry's passing.
I knew Perry for a long time & what a sense of humor he had, made me laugh often. I can picture you now with that smile laughing. You are definitely missed !
Barbi Levy moved to Beach High from Houston, Texas, in high school. She married, but later divorced, Beach High grad '61 Sid Stern. She remained a dear friend of mine until she passed away some years ago.
I will always remember her blonde hair, green eyes that sparkled, and her giggle.
was in homeroom with Jose & I never knew how he could eat that can of Spam every morning & always trying to get me to taste it no matter how many times he told me how great it was. ( I never did ) Great voice & strong as a bull ! Played football & Basketball good too. Funny person always made people laugh, & he is missed.

Big Jose was a gentle giant and good friend.
From Larry Lancit on October 30th, 2014
Jose was a magnificent personality. We were friends all through high school, sharing many great moments in the A Capella Choir. I could always count on him to be a smiliing face when the days were long and hard. He will be missed I am sure!
Yes, Richard, he was a riot. He made me laugh more than anyone else I knew. Brilliant, really.
From Rich Victor on October 5th, 2012
Stan and I were good friends back in the 60s. One of the smartest people I ever knew, and by far, the funniest. We moved to California, Stan, his brother Sheldon, and me. He sometimes struggled to find his way, but was a beautiful soul, remembered and missed by many. We love you, Stan.
Stuart was my best friend and bar mitzva partner. We attended the University of South Florida where we were brothers in Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. I went on to dental school early and Stu became president of this fraternity before going to the University of Florida where he completed his law degree. He practiced criminal law in Miami.
He was one of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Harriet lived around the corner from me in the early 60s. We were pals down in South Beach back in the day. Super smart girl. Rest in peace.
From adrienne adels on August 7th, 2010
Harriiet was my friend. We rode the school bus together or shared in our car pool with Michael Brown, Trudi Herman and often Mark Leban. After school, we would go to the 7 Eleven on Normandy Isle to eat ice cold water melon from the cooler and laugh.. She was brillant, eccentric, funny, and lovable. Please, if you know of Harriet, please let me hear from you.God bless her,
Linda was a dear friend when we were young. We traveled together for two months during college- all around Europe and to Israel. Two Jewish princesses navigating Eurailpasses, hashish, and boys. We had not been in touch for so many years but I know that trip was a special memory for her. I was very sad to hear of her passing.
From Art Lederman on June 26th, 2015
Linda was in my homeroom in high school, loved to hear her laugh & that great smile was awesom. Jose Mendez who was also in homeroom with me has also passed, both of them way too soon with all the others who I graduated with.
From Charles Citrin on May 27th, 2015
Linda was a beautiful person. Linda, Wendy and I went to Hank Silverman's wedding at the Breakers and laughed for 30 years about it. She was a gem. Miss seeing her.
From Hank Silverman on March 29th, 2015
I think about Linda often. Most of the thoughts are of our long friendship, her kindness, her inspiration, how we laughed. Sometimes I simply question how she could be gone.
She will be part of my memories that I will alway hold dear, and they will keep her alive for me.

A kind and sweet woman who I met at Beach High. We saw each other again as adults, sitll the sweetie I remember from high school. Very sad to hear about her passing.
Harvey was a gem - so very special. His death has left a huge void in our lives and in our world. One thing that will live on is his stellar reputation. He was a mensch. There are only good things to say about Harvey and how he dealt with mankind.
We will always love you, Judy, Jason, Kelley, Ronnie, Rhea, Neelah and Jenna (the love of his life)
I loved Harvey, he always made me laugh. I was looking forward to seeing him again at one of our reunions. It is comforting to know that he had such a wonderful family. Miss you my friend...

She was a loving and dynamic woman whose life ended too soon--at 33 years of age. We will always remember her accomplishments as manager of Channel 23, creator of the OTI Festival in Miami and, above all, a wonderful mother.
From Margaret (Margie) Uller Goldfarb on November 13th, 2014
I remember Vivian when she first came to Ida Fisher Jr High (also when she first came to FL) as not only beautiful but so very sweet and kind with no bitterness or animosity for what had happened to her country. She and Carmen were terrific and lovely and obviously very successful in their new lives in USA.
From Judy Malschick on December 15th, 2012
Vivian and her sister Carmen were my first Cuban friends; lovely young women with class and charm. She will be missed.
I am very sorry to find out that Barry has passed away. We had many laughs in Mrs. McCullough's Latin classes and at UF. My fondest memory of Barry is making him crack up while he was standing at attention in Air Force ROTC by looking up at a plane flying over. (LAC members will understand.) Barry deserved a longer and happier life than he was handed.
From Larry Lancit on March 28th, 2015
Barry was a gentle soul. We got to know each other well when we were roommates in College at UF. He was my fraternity brother and my friend. He loved his records and had more hair than any one person deserved! He was affectionately known as 'The Bear'. I am saddened to learn of his passing.
I knew Mark for many years as we lived around the corner from each other for a long time and we went to the park alot to play ball back in Jr. High. Real nice person and good hearted. He will be missed.
Don & I knew each other from Little League when we were coached by Stan ( Skip ) Bertman, Pony League , night league softball at Memorial Field in Flamingo Park and all the way through high school. When he pitched in Little League, etc. he was so fast that the kids didn't even want to stand in the batters box. He was a good friend & I can picture him now in his wind up on the mound. You'll surely be missed "Big Don."
Never forget the times we had playing ball & doing some real crazy things with Bruno, especially bumping into you when I was a stock broker on Wall St. in NY & you came down in the elevator with me while you were also working on Wall St. Then off we wnt to Woodstock & you got your jeans taken off the fence when you got too hot in them at the concert. Also when we went to Central Park & that Great Dane peed on your leg & you hit that big dog right in the mouth for that. Then we listened to Jefferson Airplane when they walked on stage to play. What a great time we had. Miss you big guy !

II am so deeply saddened to just now learn of Miles on August 6. We were regular dates to our exciting basketball games, and often stayed up talking until 3 AM. Miles had a brilliant and fasinating mind, and had a huge view and scope of life very early. Please, if anyone knows of Miles,I would like to hear from you.Peace be with our friend.
In high school we read Fitgerald, Hemingway, Stein and dreamed of Paris. She was gone too soon and when I sat at Le Dome, walked in Montparnasse, she was in my heart. After all these years, she still is.
Roselia was married to Ken Walker and lived in Loch Sheldrake, New York. They had two girls, Nicole and Sacha. Sacha (not quite a year old) and Roselia (25 at the time), died in a car accident. They were hit by a drunk driver.
Richard & I knew each other for years and even after high school we usually saw each other at Dinner Key Auditorium down in Coconut Grove at the Antique Shows when he had a booth selling items and old furniture and I in another booth selling New England Country Primitives which I still do at times here in Phoenix, Az where I've been living almost 20 years now and married 19 years. We also played a lot of ball at Flaming Park together and had some real good times. Miss you buddy.
Bob was a talented piano player and a friend. I remember one special 'Crown and Capers' when he played for me during our rendition of 'When I Fall in Love'. He and I had a unique working chemistry. His musicianship intellect and smile will be sorely missed.
